Wanted: Chicago QB to win games
Bears fans are tired of the losing, tired of the interceptions, and tired of the “who cares” attitude. It’s time for a change! Sound off here if you want a Chicago Bears future that doesn’t involve Jay Cutler.
Are you tired of hearing these cliches?
- “canon for an arm”
- “gunslinger mentality”
- “unlimited potential”
- “huge upside”
Blech. TradeJayCutler.com is looking for football players who win games. Not players with potential, but players who know how to do the right things to win. There IS a difference.
TradeJayCutler.com is well aware of the contract extension the Bears gave Cutler in October, securing him until 2013 (gulp!) for about $50 million over 5 years.
Tags: Bears, trade Jay Cutler
Bronco fan here. Check out the interview he did at the Super Bowl week with Jim Rome. Cutler is not the face of a NFL franchise. Glad to be rid of him when it happened and of course still happy about it. Oh, he turned the ball 20-21 times last year.
Look Bear’s fans…
Jay Cutler is a good QB. He was an eliete QB here in denver, but he didn’t like josh mcaniels. Jay excelled under Mike Shanahan. Mike Shanahan is a QB’S dream at coach. OK, he groomed Elway, he groomed jake plummer to the best of his ability, had some succes with bubby brister, and also with griese. NOW, he was grooming jay cutler as WELL. Jay cutler needs a new coach. U BEARSNEED A NEW coach, not a new qb. My best friend is a die hard bear fan, and he knows cutler can be amazing…just hang in there with him and show that u support the bears through thick and thin…i respect chicogo and allways will!
It is too bad the Bears do not have that coach that took them to the super bowl with Rex Grossman anymore. God, imagine what he could do with a leader like Jay Cutler. I really hope this year the Bears draft a RB that can excel in the running game as well as the passing game. It would also help if we had the leagues best special team player. Then the Bears would only need one of the leagues best defensive leaders. Imagine if the Bears had a guys like that? It would be absolutely impossible for Cutler not to take this team to the super bowl. Maybe next year
This site is retarded.
Gotta Agree with the supposed Jay Cutler, sorry you wasted your time and energy on something so dumb
As a Broncos fan, I was told I was a 6 by this guy. He doesn’t care about the people who pay to come see him play. He doesn’t care about his team mates. He doesn’t care about winning. He cares about getting that $50 mil contract. Look at the choices he has made. He has the potential of turning the Bears into the Lions really quick. Good thing NFL contracts aren’t guaranteed.
This site is great in theory, dont get me wrong now… but what NFL franchise is going to want to trade for this failure? I know a whole lot of Bear fans think Chicago could hoodwink the Raiders into giving up a Day 1 pick… but they have their very own “cannon for an arm” bust. Maybe the site should be called benchjaycutler or CUTjaycutler.com! I’d like to see what Caleb Hanie can do at least. I sure doubt he’d be throwing 20+ INTs.
To think we gave up what could be a top 10 pick in next year’s QB deep draft may be what burns me up the most.
As a life-long Bronco’s fan I also got sick of hearing about how he was from Santa Claus, IN. The first year Cutler played I was excited and wrote off his mistakes because he was a rookie. The next year I began to worry because I saw him making the same mistakes. Last year he started off the season great, showing good mechanics and scoring a lot of points. By the end of the season he was throwing off his back foot and across his body and we were marching up and down the field but scoring no points. My perception is that he is uncoachable and will never achieve his “potential”. I love McDaniel’s “Team first” attitude and am thankful Cutler didn’t bother to answer his phone when Bowlen called.
I think Cutler has what it takes but he needs some serious tough love. I am not a huge Orton fan here in Colorado, but, he is consistant and believes in the team concept. I would bet they get him some serious reciever talent this year. I would not be surprised to see T.O. end up there. Good Luck with Cutler Bears fans…
GO BRONCOS!!!!
What needs to happen here in Chicago is that we need a new coach!!! Lovie is too busy getting his buddies jobs and not worrying about getting the wins. He is too soft to be a Professional NFL Coach. We also need an offensive coordinator who can start bringing NFL type plays instead of the ones that didn’t even work for my high school football team. Our offensive line is too weak and too old. You can tell if they are going to pass or run before cutler even takes the snap. And we need our wide outs to start learning how to run their routes like they are supposed to do. Cutler is the man to start this TEAM he just needs help from everyone else now. Fire Lovie he doesn’t know what he is doing out there. Then the wins might start coming back to Chicago
I like losing. It builds character.
Jay Cutler is a *****.
I work with a bears fan who last year was dissing Orton left and right and then was making fun of the Broncos for trading Jay Cutler. Now he is begging for a redo. LMFAO!!!
This is a great site!!!
A great site for all the Bronco fans who can’t seem to let Cutler go!!
I was fuming when Chicago fans came to Mile High this preseason with all their stupid signs that basically called the Bronco’s and their fans idiots for letting Cutler go to Chicago for Orton. Because of that I feel great every time the Bears lose. In the past I wouldn’t even give a damn. Cutler can throw the ball a mile. Is that working for you???? Where did all those signs go by the way? How come Bears fan stopped calling Denver sports radio station? Anybody? Anybody? Bueller?
Well put Kevin. That about sums it up for the Bears this season.
And for all the Donkey fans and Cutler haters out there, I have to disagree with his “crybaby factor” at this point. He has not made any bad comments to the press about his teammates. Lets not forget that he does his best to manage Type 2 Diabetes on Sundays all while not getting injured with a pourous O line.
OH !! and the nominee for Official crybaby goes to none other than…drumroll please…..Cornbread BRETT FARVE !! …..
“WAA!! Oh sorry packers, I’m guilty of retiring early. can I come back and play now? WAA!!” Oh. Thanks Childress. can i play for you? WAA!! Just make sure I don’t have to attend your Preseason camp. Can you pick me up at airport and drive me to camp? WAA!!
Cutler needs to cut down his interceptions. The Bears defense needs to protect leads in the 4th quarter, the offensive line is offensive, and the running game disappeared, and receivers are at best mediocre. The offense is predictable and unproductive, and the defense leaks. Coaching is mediocre to poor.
That’s a lot to fix, without 1st round draft choices. Cutler and a couple of other Bears are good trade bait. Fire the coach and bring in Mike Shanahan and a new defensive coordinator.
al, be carefull what you wish for. shanahan was only 500 (last 3 years) with a good o-line good r/b and w/r and WITH jay cutler he was worse. jay is why shanny is not in denver. JAY GUTLESS is good trade bait the bears should get at least two 7th round picks.
I was not pleased when the trade for Cutler was made. The reason being that I knew that Ron Turner would call the same plays that he did for Grossman and Orton. Also, the Bears did not have a legitimate number one receiver with experience and their offensive line was a joke. Thus, the Bears could not afford to give up two number one picks along with a three pick and Orton.
Looking back I am not unhappy with the trade. The reason being that Cutler is better than I thought he was and the Bears struck gold with Johnny Knox being the 5th round pick received from Denver. I believe Knox is a budding star. So the Bears have two legitimate stars from that trade.
I do not understand how so many Bear fans believe that the blame for the Bears descent in the standings is all Cutler’s fault. That is just plain stupid. Even more stupid is the call to trade Cutler for a 1st round pick or whatever they could get for him. I know that memories for most is very short but this cry to dump Cutler is just silly. No quarterback can succeed in the NFL unless they have the proper support which always begins with the offensive line followed by receivers the quarterback is familiar with. Cutler is primarily throwing to receivers with one or two years experience. They are still learning how to play the position and Cutler is learning what he can expect from them. On top of all of that, Cutler is calling plays from the most inept offensive coordinator in the NFL. Does anyone remember when Brian Griese won a game by calling his own plays and then had to give credit for the plays that won the game to Ron Turner the next day?
There was a book published about 20 years ago about the NFL draft. The author happened to focus on the Bears draft for that particular year. I wish I could remember the name of the book and the year of the draft that he was describing all the behind the scenes decision making involved. I read the book about ten years after it was published and knew what the results were of the players being touted for that particular draft. I learned, while reading that book that only one third of college players drafted actually succeed in the NFL. That is one out of three. Think about it. Thus, it is safe to say that the NFL draft is one huge crap shoot. Think about the players who became major stars without ever being drafted. They include Curt Warner, Tony Romo, etc. Think about the major bomb outs like Tony Mansomething with the Packers. There was a major dispute about who was the better quarterback to draft between Peyton Manning and is the name Leach? With all the time, money and effort to determine who will succeed coming out of college only one out of three make it. Now Bear fans want to trade Cutler for draft picks? Give me a break!
Cutler got screwed by being traded to his favorite team as a kid. The reason why is the incompetent ownership, management and coaching staff. Nothing is going to change for the Bears until at least the management and coaching staff is replaced. They also need to get rid of certain players like Urlacher who has proven not to be a good team player. So all you people who want to vent on Cutler are wasting your time. They will be doing him a favor if they do trade him!
I have seen the Bears destroy the reputations of really good quarterbacks like Doug Flutie in past years who had to go and break records in the Canadian League in order to get another shot in the NFL late in his career. Flutie was a truly class act who also got hammered by Bear teammates like Jim McMain and Dan Hampton who were jealous of him and called him Bambi. I remember Flutie having to play in a title game with the Redskins and being told by the Bear coaching staff that he had to stay in the pocket for that game. Flutie was a terrific running quarterback and by making him stay in the pocket it took him out of his game. The Bears lost and of course it was all Flutie’s fault. What a stinkin’ joke that was. He handled it all with the most class I have ever seen from any NFL player. One of my favorite games was after the Bears dumped him and really sliced him up verbally in the process. Flutie started for the Patriots against the Bears the following year and tore them up beginning with a 80 yard bomb for a touchdown. Needless to say the Bears lost to Flutie that day. I loved it!
I hope all Bear fans would understand that for a quarterback to be successful he MUST have a good offensive line, good experienced receivers and a reliable running back. Otherwise, he dose not have a chance to be all that he could be. The Bear losses are NOT Cutler’s fault!
The Bear losses ARE Cutler’s fault. Every one of them.
John Elway took 3 crappy teams to the Super Bowl. Ben Rothlisberger ranks in the top 5 every year for getting sacked. Tom Brady comes in as a back up and takes his no name WR/RB’s to the Super Bowl every other year. Vince Young takes an 0-6 team and wins as many games as Chicago has in half the time, hah! Rex Grossman takes the Chicago Bears to the Super Bowl… Seriously… REX GROSSMAN! And we have been told Cutler has a better team then he had!!!
Great QB’s make mediocre teams better. Sooner or later, the Bears will realize that Cutler is just a horse turd with extra oats!
Great article, public reports and bloggers are definitely changing the landscape for news thats for sure.
Hey guys(fantastic blog by the way) I’m blog hopping asking different questions about the Super Bowl what was your favorite play last night?
